Car accident, knife fight outside Market Basket in Port Arthur

Port Arthur police are searching for a suspect after a car accident led to a knife fight near Alford’s Market Basket in Port Arthur, PAPD Field Operations Lieutenant Jeremy Lloyd said in a release.

On Nov. 30 at 12:40 a.m., PAPD were called out to an aggravated assault near West Port Arthur Road and FM 365 near the Market Basket at 5899 West Port Arthur Road.

The victim told police he had been in a traffic accident near Alford’s which resulted in an argument with the driver of the other vehicle. He then said the driver pulled out a small knife and cut his hand before fleeing the scene.

The victim was later treated and released from the Medical Center of Southeast Texas, according to the statement.

PAPD are looking for a black male about 25-35 years old driving a white Chevrolet Silverado work truck. The license plate is unknown.
