The Community Coalition Bridges of Hope Lunch is May 1

The Community Coalition lunch featuring special guest speaker Josh Dorrell of Galveston Urban Ministries will be held at 11 a.m. on May 1, at Cathedral Church, located at 2350 Eastex Freeway.

Josh Dorrell grew up in the inner city of Waco where his parents, Jimmy and Janet Dorrell, began Mission Waco and Church Under the Bridge. After working at Mission Waco and in North India, Josh and his wife, Danielle, moved to Galveston in 2010 where they are building relationships, living in the neighborhood where they serve, sharing the love of Christ by caring for others.

The lunch will include recognition of the BISD Campus Compassion volunteers and special guest, Justice of the Peace Nancy Beaulieu, chairman of the board with The Community Coalition (TCC).

TCC is a faith-based nonprofit formed to enlist, equip and encourage Southeast Texas churches and volunteers to work together to empower children and adults as they walk from dependency toward the dignity of self-sufficiency.

Pastor Rick White and Pastor Jerry High will discuss Campus Compassion, the Adopt-a-School initiative of TCC. Campus Compassion equips churches and volunteers to impact students and schools with empowering, help and eternal hope.

Pastor Randy Feldschau, Charmaine James and Pastor John Adolph will share while encouraging the community to take part in how Not in My City whose goal is to seek peace, prosperity and transformation for Southeast Texas and the nation.
