Copper wiring stolen in Orange burglary

Police in Orange are investigating a burglary in the 2200 block of Westway St. reported Thursday morning. According to a report from OPD, someone broke in and stole the copper wiring from the victim's home while she was away.

Officer Taylor Saleme responded to the call at approximately 9:09 a.m. Upon arrival at the scene, Officer Saleme reported he met with the female victim. She told him that she left her residence the previous evening at approximately 7 p.m. When she returned home the Thursday at approximately 8 a.m., she realized her walls and ceiling had been damaged. Upon inspection, she realized all copper wiring and plumbing had been removed from the damaged areas.

Officer Saleme reported the majority of the damage was around the kitchen area of the victim's home. He estimated the damages at $3,000 and the stolen copper at $1,500.

Police have no suspects at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
