Crash on West Port Arthur Road injures two

On Nov. 21 at about 7:45a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to a two vehicle crash on West Port Arthur Road just south of Cardinal Drive in Beaumont, Sgt. Stephanie Davis said in a statement.

Preliminary reports indicate that a Ford Explorer was traveling southbound on West Port Arthur Road. For an unknown reason, the driver of the Ford drifted into the northbound traffic lane and struck a Honda passenger vehicle. The momentum of the crash caused the Ford to rollover several times before coming to rest.

The driver of the Ford, a 59 year old Port Neches man, was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Honda, a 24 year old Beaumont woman, was also transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth hospital.Her injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

This crash remains under investigation and there are no further details to be released at this time.
