Crime Stoppers opening media room at BPD station

Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas announced the grand opening of a brand-new, Regional Media Center on Jan. 11 at the downtown Beaumont police station. According to Crime Stoppers Board Chairman Larry Crumpton, the new media center will offer Crime Stoppers affiliated law enforcement agencies a way to enhance video, create public service announcements (PSAs) and much more.

“All 11 of our Crime Stoppers affiliated law enforcement agencies will be able to use the media room and benefit from it,” said Crumpton. “The Beaumont Police Department donated the space, so that is where it will be located. Officers will be trained in how to maximize the use of the equipment and software in the media room. It will benefit not only law enforcement, but media partners, as well.”

According to Crime Stoppers, the Regional Media Center is one of the organization’s newest tools to help area law enforcement agencies get up-to-date information about crimes out to the public...
