Deputies arrest Beaumont man on gun and drug charges

Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Task Force arrested a Beaumont man on gun and drug charges after reportedly finding more thatn 9 ounces of methamphetamine, a small amount of maijuana and multiple firearms, reports Captain Crystal Holmes.

According to Holmes, investigators conducting an investigation into suspected illegal activities arrested 36-year-old Kevin Lee Husband of Beaumont for possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon March 7. Deptuies initially stopped Husband for a traffic offense and performed a search of his vehicle, which revealed suspected meth, marijuana, a .40-caliber Handgun and approximately $5,000.00 cash, Holmes stated in a news release.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for Husband's residence in the 3500 block of Audree Street in Beaumont. During the search of the residence, deputies report they discovered 9 ounces of suspected meth and a .38-caliber handgun. Investigators also located drug paraphernalia and a commercial money counter inside the residence, according to JCSO. 

Husband was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance with a $20,000 bond and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon with a $100,000 bond. He remained in jail at the time of the release.
