Deputies search for suspect vehicle

Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies are searching for a Pontiac Grand Am suspected as the vehicle used in a robbery and an attempted robbery at two Nederland convenience stores within two weeks. JCSO is requesting the public's help in locating the vehicle, which was caught on video surveillance at the scenes of the crimes.

On Thursday night, July 19, two black males with partially covered faces attempted to rob the Crossroads Convenience store at 2521 N. Twin City Highway in Nederland. The store clerk had already locked the door for the evening, and the suspects were unable to enter the establishment. While leaving, one of the suspects was caught on camera pulling off his facial cover.

On Wednesday, July 25, at 9:20 p.m., the JCSO received a call that an armed robbery had just occurred at Dan’s Food Mart located at 3819 N. Twin City Hwy in Nederland. In that instance, two thin black males with shirts over their faces entered the store and demanded money from the store clerk.

After reviewing surrounding surveillance video, it was discovered that an older model Gold Pontiac Grand Am was seen driving through the parking lots and surrounding areas of both incidents. The suspect vehicle has body damage. The trunk does not close, and it only has one hubcap.

Deputies ask that anyone with information about this crime or the car call Crime Stoppers at (409) 833-TIPS (8477). Tipsters may also submit anonymous information by downloading the P3 app. Callers will not be asked their names and could be eligible for a cash reward.
