Detectives attempting to identify bank robber

An unidentified man robbed BBVA Compass Bank on Calder.

Detectives are working with investigators from the FBI to identify and locate the man who robbed a downtown bank the morning of Thursday, Oct. 10.

At about 9:30 a.m., patrol officers responded to a reported robbery at the BBVA Compass Bank in the 700 block of Calder.

Bank employees reported that a man entered the bank, brandished a knife and demanded money. The teller complied and the robber fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. No one was physically injured during the robbery, and there were no customers inside at the time.

K-9 units completed a track and determined that the man ran northeast from the bank and possibly crossed the back parking lot of St. Mark’s Church.

Surveillance video captured images of the robber. He was a black male, about 5-7 to 5-10 with a medium build. He was wearing a dark jacket with a gray hoodie underneath, gray material covering his face, dark jeans and white tennis shoes.
