Detectives search for answers in Orange shooting

Detectives in Orange are investigating a shooting that sent one man to a local hospital over the weekend, reports Orange Police Department (OPD) Lt. G.D. Keaton.

Officers from the OPD responded to the 1100 block of 11th Street at 2:50 p.m. on Sept. 16 in reference to a 9-1-1 call reporting “shots fired.” The caller advised dispatch that several shots had been heard in the area.

Upon arrival at the location, officers met with several people, including one male subject who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound. Detectives and Identification Technicians arrived on scene and an investigation ensued. The shooting victim was treated at the scene and was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont with injuries that police reported do not appear to be life-threatening.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing at this time. Police ask that anyone with information regarding the incident contact the OPD Detective Division at (409) 883-1095.
