Two men have been arrested and four more are wanted on warrants in Jefferson County related to a dog fighting ring discovered last month on Rogers Avenue in Beaumont, reports the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

According to Deputy Marcus McLellan, deputies discovered a large dog fighting ring at 8010 Rogers Ave. on March 28 while investigating a report of loose horses in the area. As they approached the residence at the address, deputies reportedly observed a large group of people gathered and smelled burning marijuana. The crowd dispersed as officers approached, revealing a shocking sight - two dogs in a wooden ring, one bleeding severely.

Deputies found a number of dogs at the residence, along with the fighting pit and dog fighting training equipment. The equipment and dogs were seized, and an investigation ensued.

The Criminal Investigation Division of the Sheriff’s Office conducted their investigation, ultimately resulting in the issuance of six warrants by the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. Four of the wanted suspects remained at large at 8:30 a.m. on May 3.

Kyle Reginald White, 31; Robert Ray Hale, 37; Dantavian Jamal Collier, 22; Kirby Ray Richard, 25; Billy Ray Leblanc, 26; Abdual Ramon Bluitt, 38 are accused of engaging in organized criminal activity. Bluitt was arrested and in custody in Beauregard Parish, Louisiana on the morning of May 3. Hale was arrested and bonded out on a $15,000 bond.

McLellan asks that anyone with information on the location of the individuals who have not yet been arrested call Crime Stoppers at (409) 833-TIPS. All calls are anonymous and could earn the caller a cash reward.

UPDATE: As of May 4, two other suspects had been arrested. Kyle Reginald White, 31, and Billy Ray Leblanc, 26, were arrested and taken into custody on charges of engaging in organized criminal activity.
