Domestic disturbance leads to violence in Beaumont

A 34-year-old Beaumont man suffered minor injuries when the mother of his children struck him with a vehicle then stabbed him during an argument, reports the Beaumont Police Department.

According to a news release from BPD, the stabbing occurred Dec. 31 at about 5:11 p.m. in a parking lot of a business located in the 2700 block of Washington Boulevard. A witness called 911 and told the dispatcher that a man and woman were involved in an argument.  The witness went on to say that during the argument, the female struck the man with a vehicle, exited the vehicle, stabbed the man once in his left leg, then got back in the vehicle and attempted to strike the injured man again.  She then fled the area in the vehicle, according to the witness.

The victim was transported to the Baptist Hospital emergency room by private vehicle. At the time he was brought in doctors expected to treat the man for minor injuries then release him, BPD reports.

The female suspect, identified as 30-year-old Andria Williams of Beaumont, phoned police and officers met her at the intersection of Fourth Street and Blanchette Street. Williams herself was not injured. The investigation revealed that the victim is the father of Williams’ children, says BPD.

Officers placed Williams under arrest for aggravated assault-family violence.
