Early voting underway in primary election

Early primary voting began Feb. 16, and voters have a lot to consider, but after deciding who to vote for in the election, voters need only find a polling location to exercise their constitutional right to choose their representatives.

In Jefferson County, voters can do that in many locations seven days a week. Through Feb. 19, voters can visit polling locations from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, vote from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, it’s noon – 5 p.m. at selected locations. Feb. 22-26, vote from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Early voting locations include the Beaumont Courthouse-Main location at 1085 Pearl St. in Beaumont; the Port Arthur Sub-Courthouse at 525 Lakeshore Drive in Port Arthur (closed Sunday); Rogers Park Recreation Center at 6540 Gladys St. in Beaumont; the Port Arthur Public Library at 4615 Ninth Ave. in Port Arthur; the Theodore Johns Library at 4255 Fannett Road in Beaumont; the John Paul Davis Community Center at 3580 E. Lucas Drive in Beaumont (closed Sunday); the Marion and Ed Hughes Public Library at 2712 Nederland Ave. in Nederland; the Groves Recreation Center at 6150 39th St. in Groves; and the Effie and Wilton Hebert Library at 2025 Merriman St. in Port Neches. Feb. 20 and Feb. 22-24, voters can visit the Precinct One Service Center at 1201 W. Highway 90 in China or the Jefferson County J.P. Precinct 4 Building at 19217 F.M. 365 in Beaumont.

Voters in Orange County can vote early from Feb. 16-20 and Feb. 22-26 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the following locations: the Orange Public Library, 220 N. Fifth St. in Orange; the Bridge City Public Works Building, 220 Nitsche St.; the Mauriceville Volunteer Fire Department, 10691 N. Highway 62; and at the Raymond Gould Community Center, 385 Claiborne St. in Vidor.

Hardin County voters can mark their ballots by visiting certain locations at various dates and times. From Feb. 16-26, early voting will be available at the Hardin County Courthouse at 300 W. Monroe St. in Kountze from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Branch early voting in Hardin County will be held Feb. 18-19 at the First Assembly of God Church, 950 Highway 96 S., Silsbee; Feb. 22-23 at the Sour Lake Community Center at 250 South Ann St.; and Feb. 24-25 at Lumberton City Hall, 836 N. Main St.
