Family violence stabbing in Orange

Police in Orange are investigating a stabbing that resulted in injuries to a city resident Oct 26.

According to a news release from the Orange Police Department, officers, along with the Orange Fire Department and Acadian Ambulance, responded to the 1000 block of Ruby Lane at 12:46 a.m. in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered a 25-year-old male victim, with apparent stab wounds to his arms and one leg, seated in the passenger seat of a vehicle. He was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment of his wounds.

Investigators reportedly learned that the stabbing took place at a residence on Cove Drive. Officers responded to the scene to gather further evidence. They ultimately arrested 25-year-old Ktroya Jaquil Joseph of Orange, who they located at the scene of the stabbing. She was taken into custody for aggravated assault/family violence charges and transported to the Orange County Jail.

The victim’s condition is unknown at this time. The investigation is still ongoing at this time.

Police records indicate other incidents of family violence have been reported from the Cove Drive residence Joseph shares with the male victim in the recent stabbing. On Oct. 9, Joseph stabbed her boyfriend in the leg to prevent her boyfriend from assaulting her after he came home intoxicated, she told police. He was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment of his wounds.
