Fatal motorcycle accident on Major Drive

A 20-year-old Beaumont man was killed in a motorcycle accident Monday night, April 9, reports the Beaumont Police Department. 

Beaumont Police officers responded to the 5000 block of S. Major Drive in reference to a major crash involving a passenger car and a motorcycle. During the initial investigation witnesses said a silver passenger vehicle was traveling southbound in the inside lane of Major Drive when a motorcycle, also traveling southbound, impacted the car from behind at a high rate of speed and causing the car to spin around several times. It reportedly traveled about 100 yards before coming to a complete stop. The motorcycle and its operator, identifies as Cody Ray Kendrick, landed about 25 yards from the car.

Kendrick was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 19-year-old Beaumont woman, was not injured in the wreck.
