Fatality victim identified as missing person

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has identified the victim of a an auto-pedestrian crash that occurred Aug. 30 in Orange County as a missing person, according to Sgt. Stephanie Davis. 

DPS originally received the report of the auto-pedestrian accident at about 2 a.m. the day of the crash. The crash occurred around 3 miles west of Vidor, near mile marker 858.

Preliminary reports indicated that a 2007 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling eastbound on I-10. A pedestrian who had crossed the westbound traffic lanes of the interstate and was attempting to cross the eastbound traffic lanes was struck by the commercial motor vehicle.

The pedestrian, a black female, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Rodney Price. She has now been identified as 21-year-old Brejon Talia Robinson of Beaumont. The preliminary investigation revealed that Beaumont police records listed Robinson as a missing person.

At the time of this report, troopers continued to investigate the fatal crash.
