Fire starts in a Ford, family dispute leads to stabbing

A family dispute left one man with multiple stab wounds Wednesday afternoon, according to the Beaumont Police.

The skirmish occurred in the 1000 block of Georgia. The victim was taken to the hospital with "several" stab wounds to his upper arm. The injuries are not life threatening and the incident remains under investigation.

Earlier in the day Wednesday, roughly around noon, the Beaumont Fire Department responded to a home at 671 Prince where both the structure and two vehicles were on fire. According to the fire department, the fire originated in the engine compartment of a 2001 Ford Expedition parked in the driveway. That caused the vehicle in front of the Expedition to catch fire, and then the exterior wall of the house next to both vehicles caught fire. Fortunately, a neighbor saw the fire, alerted the family inside the house, who made it out safely. When firefighters arrived, they put out the fires in five minutes.
