Firefighters quickly douse residential fire in Beaumont

Fire on Youngstown Street

Firefighters in Beaumont made short work of dousing a residential fire on the morning of Feb. 4, according to a news release from Beaumont Fire Rescue.

At approximately 8:00 a.m., Beaumont Fire Rescue units responded to a structure fire in the 3800 block of Youngstown Street reported by multiple callers. Upon arrival, firefighters reportedly saw flames coming from one room of the home. They made “a quick attack and were able to confine the fire to one room,” reports the department.

No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. Investigators report that the fire appears to have been caused by a space heater left on in the room and too close to combustibles.
