Florida man arrested on I-10 with cocaine

Tuesday, July 12, at about 7:45 p.m., Beaumont officers on I-10 near mile marker 838 stopped a white 2015 Jeep Latitude with Florida plates for a traffic violation, Officer Carol Riley said in a release. A K-9 officer and his partner Sugar assisted with the stop.

A small, user amount of suspected powder cocaine and methamphetamine were located inside the vehicle. A further search of the vehicle revealed that three kilos of suspected powder cocaine were hidden inside the front driver and passenger doors.

The driver, Quincy Reno Brown, 37, from Jacksonville, Florida, was arrested and booked into the Jefferson County Jail for possession of a controlled substance with a $100,000 bond.
