Game wardens pursue four-wheelers and deputies search for marijuana at Sea Rim

Games wardens with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) chased a group on four-wheelers at Sea Rim Park on March 22 and later apprehended a suspect in the crime. The next day, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Aviation Unit deputies found a stolen four-wheeler that had been involved in the chase while looking for bundles or marijuana along the shore.

JCSO Deputy Marcus McLellan reports that game wardens saw the individuals on four-wheelers and were involved in a short pursuit, but the group got away. Later that night, a suspect believed to have been involved in the chase was identified.

The JCSO Aviation Unit responded the following day in reference to a 10-pound bundle of marijuana that had washed up on shore. As they searched for additional bundles along the shoreline, they saw the stolen four-wheeler.
