Golden Triangle Indivisible hosting forum for city council candidates

Golden Triangle Indivisible is extending an invitation to all city council candidates to participate in one more forum before early voting begins on Monday, April 24.

City council candidates are invited to one more chance to meet the residents of Beaumont in a forum from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m on April 19 in the meeting room at R.C. Miller library. This forum will offer small informal groups.

Hopefully, this process gives the candidates a chance to build relationships with the citizenry. Constituents will have the opportunity to personally question individual candidates directly.

Golden Triangle Indivisible is an intersectional group of grassroots community activists moving forward in a nonpartisan, progressive, positive, and peaceful manner. To that end, we feel that is vital to encourage participation at the local level.

In hosting a City Council Candidate Forum, we hope to provide information to educate citizens, promote democracy and create an ever improving Beaumont.

The mayor, and two council members at large and council members for Ward I, Ward II, Ward III and Ward IV have been invited to participate.

R.C. Miller Library is located at 1605 Dowlen Road in Beaumont. Anyone with further questions can contact Shelby Smith at shelbymovingforward [at] gmail [dot] com.
