H-E-B voluntarily recalls Creamy Creations Caramel Pecan Turtle Ice Cream

Creamy Creations Turtle

Ice cream lovers shy to go back to their favorite treat since Blue Bell's nationwide recall stemming from a fatal Listeriosis outbreak last year have probably been paying close attention to recalls and reports on beloved comestibles and other varieties of sweet frozen treats. For those who have been enjoying H-E-B Creamy Creations brand ice cream rather than old Texas favorite Blue Bell, consumers should beware. The company has issued a voluntary recall and a warning after discovering the presence of wood shards in a specific flavor of the ice cream - nothing nearly so serious as Blue Bell's identification of the deadly bacterium Listeria monocytogenes in its products, but definitely a warning of which consumers should be aware.

The company warned Feb. 4, "In the abundance of caution, H-E-B is issuing a voluntary recall for H-E-B Creamy Creations Caramel Pecan Turtle Ice Cream due to the possible presence of wood pieces in the product.

"H-E-B is committed to the quality of its products."

There have been no reports of illness, and H-E-B advised that customers who purchased the product can return it to the store for a full refund. Consumers with any questions or concerns may contact H-E-B Customer Service at 1-855-432-4438.
