Hardin County crash injures two, shuts down lanes at Village Creek

A wreck in Hardin County resulted in two injuries and shut down the northbound lanes of US 96 at Village Creek for a short time on Jan. 8, Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Stephanie Davis reports.

According to Davis, there was a one-vehicle crash on US-96 on the Village Creek Bridge just north of Lumberton at approximately 12:00 p.m. A Ford pickup truck was traveling northbound on US-96 when one of the rear tires blew out causing the vehicle to strike the guardrail. The vehicle rolled over and came to rest on its roof.

The driver of the vehicle, Robert Turner, 47, of Kountze, and his 27-year-old passenger were both transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of injuries, which reportedly appear to not be life threatening.
