Hazel house fire appears deliberate, investigators say
Beaumont Fire Rescue units responded to a reported structure fire at 1792 Hazel shortly after 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 6.
When firefighters arrived, they found the front of the house on fire. Firefighters were able to control the fire within minutes and the fire damage was moderate. The house was vacant with no utilities connected. The cause of the fire appears to be deliberate, Beaumont Fire and Rescue said in a press release.
There is no suspect information at this time. Neighbors reported the house has been vacant for years and transients used the house regularly. Anyone with information about this fire or any of the recent arson fires is urged to call the Fire Marshal's Office at 409-880-3905 or call Crimestoppers.
