The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshals and the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) arrested a local man in connection with the robberies and shootings of four Jasper County residents, reports the sheriff’s office.

According to a news release from Jasper County, deputies and ATF agents arrested Keeyan Deon Seastrunk at his parents’ home without incident in the early morning hours of March 5. Jasper County Sheriff Mitchel Newman advised that he and his deputies assisted the ATF, and the U.S. Marshals service in serving a federal warrant of arrest on Seastrunk. Seastrunk, along with Michael Byerly and Xavier Clark, are being charged federally for their involvement in the Jasper County robberies and shootings of Robert and Aline Shellhammer, Douglas Bean, and Deann Elder. Byerly and Clark have already been charged federally for their involvement in a Newton County bank robbery and for severely injuring the teller during that robbery.

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office reports they would like to thank the ATF and the U.S. Marshals service for their assistance in the arrest of these suspects for these major crimes that occurred in the county, Sheriff Newman said in the pres release.
