Jasper County drug raid leads to discovery of meth and one arrest

Jasper County Sheriff Mitchel Newman and deputies raided a residence in Brookeland and arrested the 53-year-old resident there after discovering meth and more while executing a search warrant, reports Newman.

According to a news release from the sheriff, deputies conducted the operation at the residence located in Rayburn Country, a neighborhood in Brookeland, which is in Jasper County.

Newman reports that deputies found drug paraphernalia, a firearm, multiple prescription pills and a large amount of methamphetamine inside the residence. The female suspect, whose name is being withheld pending formal charges, was arrested and transported to the Jasper County Jail. She is charged with first-degree felony manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance, penalty group 1.
