Juvenile shooting victim gives police sketchy details
A juvenile victim is giving police sketchy details following a Saturday, March 29 shooting in Beaumont.
Around 11:43 a.m., Saturday morning, Beaumont police responded to a reported shooting victim in the 500 block of West Lavaca. Beaumont EMS transported the juvenile to St. Elizabeth Hospital where he was treated for gunshot wounds to his hand and knee. He was listed in good condition, according to a BPD press release.
Both the victim and witness stated that they were riding with an unknown third person in the north end of Beaumont and said that an unknown man approached their vehicle near the intersection of E. Lucas and Dallas and shot the juvenile. The driver of the vehicle then drove the victim and witness to a house in the 500 block of W. Lavaca where they phoned police, the press release states. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. Beaumont police say neither the juvenile victim nor the witness could give detailed information or descriptions of the alleged shooter or the person who was driving the car that they were allegedly in at the time of the shooting. Details are extremely sketchy and detectives are continuing to determine the facts surrounding this incident.
