A 12-year-old boy died Nov. 8 while he and a friend were playing with a hunting rifle, Hardin County Sheriff Mark Davis said in a statement.

The boy has been identified as Trintin Glenn, 12, who lived in Kountze.

Hardin County Sheriff deputies arrived on scene shortly after 6 p.m. Nov. 8 and found the boy’s body on the porch of a mobile home in the 2600 block of FM 418, just east of Kountze, according to Davis.

Davis said they believe, based in the initial investigation, that the rifle accidentally discharged while the boys were playing with it.

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the death. An autopsy has been ordered and his body has been sent to the Jefferson County Morgue for examination.
