Receding floodwaters have allowed Lamar State College – Orange personnel to do a preliminary assessment of damage to the campus.  Both the Wilson Building and the Green Avenue Building were flooded.  Water reached a depth of 10 inches in the Green Avenue Building and 3 inches in the Wilson Building. Both buildings will need drywall repair and flooring replacement.

Classes at Lamar State College – Orange are expected to resume Wednesday, March 23.  Students were originally scheduled to return from Spring Break on March, 21 but that date was moved back to accommodate road closures and to prepare space for classes that were meeting in the two flooded buildings.  The delay in resuming classes will not impact the academic calendar of the May graduation date.

Lamar State College – Orange offices reopened Monday, March 21. Staff employees are to report to work as usual.
