Lane closures to commence on Interstate 10

Two crash reconstructions will be conducted by The Texas Department of Public Safety on Interstate 10 in Jefferson County Thursday, April 12. 

According to a DPS press release, the first reconstruction will close one westbound traffic lane of Interstate 10 on The Purple Heart Memorial Bridge (Neches River) from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Motorists traveling westbound on Interstate 10 from the Louisiana and Orange areas are urged to use the following detour: SH 87 South in Orange to Highway 73 in Bridge City back to IH - 10 in Winnie. 

The second will close one westbound traffic lane of interstate 10, near the FM 365 exit, will close from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Motorists traveling westbound on Interstate 10 from the Beaumont and Louisiana are urged to use US 90 (College Street) in Beaumont to Houston.

Motorists traveling in the area of the crash reconstruction should drive cautiously, observe all warning signs and follow directions from law enforcement officers and other traffic control devices in the area.

In the event of inclement weather, the crash reconstruction will be delayed.
