LIT Campus going smoke-free for 2012

BEAUMONT – Effective Jan. 1, 2012, Lamar Institute of Technology will become a tobacco-free campus, in an effort to maintain a healthy and safe environment for its students, staff, faculty and visitors.
The Texas State University System has asked for all its colleges and universities to have a tobacco-free policy in place by June 2012.
Smoking or the use of any tobacco product, including smokeless tobacco, will not be permitted in any facility or on the grounds of any LIT campus. The policy will apply to everyone who comes to the campus, including visitors, vendors, contractors, etc.
