Man arrested for stealing wire from burned building

On Sunday, Sept. 11, Beaumont police officers were dispatched to 2290 Eastex Freeway, the Golden Triangle Directory building, at about 8:30 a.m. in reference to a theft in progress. Just over a week ago, the facility was destroyed by a fire and was left unusable.

Officers discovered 51-year-old Kevin Ray Thibodeaux stealing copper wiring out of the breaker box. He was arrested and transported to Jefferson County Correctional Facility for theft of wire/cable, a state jail felony.
