Man dies of electrocution in tree trimming accident

A local tree trimmer died from electrocution after he accidentally made contact with a live power line while cutting limbs at an Orange residence, reports Orange Police Department (OPD) Capt. J.P. Burns.

In a news release, Burns stated that OPD officers, Orange firefighters and Acadian Ambulance personnel were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of Hydrangea at 12:23 p.m. on June 30 in reference to the accident. Upon officers' arrival at 12:28 p.m., the male victim was discovered hanging from a tree where he had been electrocuted after making contact with a power line. Entergy was called to the scene to cut the power, and the victim was retrieved by the City of Orange Fire Department using an Entergy utility vehicle with a bucket extension. 

Roland Kaderli, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene. Judge Joy Simonton ordered an autopsy.
