Man resists robbers, shot four times

Police say a man was shot when he refused to give up his wallet Sunday, May 12. 

According to a Beaumont Police Department press release, police responded at approximately 9:53 p.m. to a call at 1159 S. 11th St. to find a man bleeding from his abdomen. EMS was called and the man was treated at St. Elizabeth Hospital for four gunshot wounds. 

A second victim on the scene told police two black males 18- 20 years old approached them with guns drawn and demanded their wallets. The man told police he gave his wallet to the robbers, but his friend resisted and was shot four times. 

No other injuries were reported.
