Police say a man with a knife robbed a Wells Fargo Bank in Beaumont on Monday, May 13.

At about 9 a.m., police say a white male entered the bank at 4405 Dowlen Road and waited his turn in line before ordering a teller to give him a stack of 100 dollar bills.

According to a BPD press release, the tellers didn’t take the man seriously until he jumped onto the counter and brandished a dark-colored knife.

Police say the man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a reddish-colored, older model Volvo sedan.

The robber is described as a white male in his late 30s with long, dark hair slicked back. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, reddish shirt, dark jeans and tennis shoes. Witnesses told police the man had no facial hair and was unkempt and dirty.

The FBI and BPD detectives are still investigating this robbery and are asking the public to call Beaumont Crime Stoppers with any helpful tips.

No injuries were reported.
