Man shot, robbed at Quality Inn

On Sept. 27, at 10:11 p.m., Beaumont police officers responded to an aggravated robbery at Quality Inn on I-10 south.

A 29 year old Beaumont man told officers that he was in the parking lot, walking to his vehicle when he was confronted by a black male about 6 feet tall, wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

The suspect was crouched down by the victim’s vehicle and appeared to have been waiting for him. The suspect had a handgun and demanded money. The victim ran and the suspect chased him.

The suspect fired the handgun at the victim twice. The victim was struck in the arm once and fell to the ground. The suspect grabbed the victim’s backpack and ran across the highway.
