Man suffers self-inflicted gunshot wound

Aug. 18, a police detective in Orange discovered a man apparently suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a vehicle parked in the parking lot north of the Orange Police Department at 303 8th St., reports Capt. Robert Enmon. 

According to a news release from Enmon, the detective discovered the wounded man suffering a single gunshot wound to the head at 4:19 p.m. The unidentified 31-year-old white male was conscious and responding to officers. He was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. 

Based on the information available at the time of the release, Enmon stated that it appears to police that no one else was involved in the shooting. OPD continues to investigate.
