Man walking in Port Arthur accepts ride, gets robbed

On Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at approximately 9:43 p.m., officers of the Port Arthur Police Department were dispatched to the 3900 block of 36th Street in reference to a robbery.

According to Sergeant Lloyd, officers located the victim, a 32-year-old male subject, who had been walking down the street when he was able to obtain a ride with several other subjects. Once in the vehicle, one of the occupants of the vehicle produced a handgun and demanded the victim's belongings. The victim provided his wallet and other valuables, then was told to leave the vehicle when the driver stopped in the 3900 block of 36th Street.

The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of being "pistol whipped" by one of the suspects. His injuries are not life threatening.

The suspects have not been located thus far. Anyone with pertinent information is asked to contact local authorities.
