Masked home invader robs Orange resident

A masked intruder robbed an Orange resident of $400 in cash, reports the Orange Police Department.

According to the police report, police received a call from a man who had been robbed at his home in the 2900 block of 17th Street in Orange at about 5:16 a.m. on Sept. 4. The victim told OPD Officer Dylan Mulhollan that he had been sleeping when he awoke at about 5 a.m. because he "felt someone standing over him." He told police he then saw a black male in a black mask standing near the victim's bed.

The victim told police the suspect attempted to take his property, and a struggle ensued. The suspect reportedly ripped the sheets from the bed and tore some of the victim's clothing off while they wrestled over the property. The suspect was able to flee from the home with the property after the struggle subsided. The victim was not injured during the altercation.

Police are still searching for a suspect.
