Motorcyclist rear ends truck outside DuPont plant

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash outside the DuPont plant in Orange County early Monday morning, Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Stephanie Davis said in a release.

Oct 9, at about 6:15 a.m., DPS responded to a multiple vehicle crash on FM 1006 in Orange County.

Preliminary reports indicate that a 2006 Ford F150 pickup truck was traveling westbound on FM 1006. A 2011 Suzuki motorcycle pulled out of a parking lot and turned onto FM 1006, headed westbound. The driver of the Ford pickup truck was slowing as he approached a vehicle that was making a right turn when he was rear-ended by the Suzuki motorcycle.

The driver of the Suzuki, 20-year-old David Earl Bundage III of Orange, was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Davis said that he remains hospitalized as of Oct. 10.

The driver of the Ford was not injured.

Due to the crash, FM 1006 was closed for approximately an hour.
