Multi-vehicle crash takes life

A multi-vehicle crash on FM 105 in Orange County claimed the life of Vivian Townsend Markle, 72, of Vidor, on Sunday, June 3. 

A Department of Public Safety press release reported that a 1996 Honda was traveling northbound on FM 105, while a 2008 Ford SUV was traveling southbound on FM 105.  As the driver of the Honda entered a curve, he traveled into the southbound lane and collided head-on with the Ford.

Markle, the driver of the Ford, was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont. Markle did not survive her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital by emergency room personnel.

The driver of the Honda, 36-year-old Blake Travis Bowen of Vidor, was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital with unknown injuries.
