Murder warrant issued related to missing woman
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office began requesting the public's assistance in locating Reina Janeth Cornejo-Trigueros this week, after the woman was last seen Monday, Feb. 27, when she left for work that morning. She contacted her employer at approximately 9 a.m. from the payphone located at the Valero Station on Hwy. 105 and Hwy. 326 in Sour Lake. She told her employer that she was going to be late, but she never up at work and no one has heard from her since the phone call at the Valero in Sour Lake.
Cornejo-Trigueros was known to be driving a champagne-colored, 2007 Nissan Titan 4-door pick-up.
On March 2, Rod Carroll from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office was notified the truck the missing woman was driving has been located in Montgomery County. The JCSO, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Sheriff Office, recovered the truck and developed a person of interest in what is being termed Cornejo-Trigueros’ murder.
A murder warrant has since been issued for the arrest of 52-year-old Jesus Castrejon, the victim’s boyfriend. Investigators are now looking for Castrejon, and anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office immediately at (409) 835-8411 or the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office at (936) 760-5871. Castrejon should be considered dangerous and no attempt should be made to take him into custody.
