National Park Service kicks off Free Fishing Day.

The National Park Service will be hosting a family fishing event at the Lower Neches Valley Authority Neches River Saltwater Barrier in Beaumont, Texas in celebration of Free Fishing Day 2018 on Saturday, June 2. The event starts at 9 a.m. and will last until 1 p.m. According to the Park Rangers and TPWD Certified Angler Education Instructors will be in attendance to assist in education and instruction of basic fishing skills. Some fishing gears will be available to use, however participants can also bring their own equipment. Attendants are encouraged to bring water, sunscreen and close-toed shoes. Also no fishing license is required for this event. The Neches River Saltwater Barrier is located at 6795 Bigner Rd. For more information visit www.nps.gov/bith.
