Nederland man charged with child pornography
After raiding the home of a Nederland man, police say they found several videos of child pornography on a computer in the 300 block of 32nd Street.
The man police say downloaded the videos, 67-year-old Larry Wayne Ball, was indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury Oct. 24 for possession of child pornography, a third degree felony.
According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by The Examiner, police had been watching Ball for months in spring and summer 2012. During that time, detectives obtained a Department of Homeland Security administrative subpoena for Time Warner Cable associated with an IP address police later linked to the 32nd Street computer.
After executing a federal search warrant on Oct. 1, 2012, police seized several storage devices where they found at least seven saved child pornography videos.
According to the affidavit, when police interviewed Ball, he admitted to using a peer-to-peer software program to download the videos.
Ball was arrested and booked into the Jefferson County jail and bonded out Oct. 10.
He is set to appear in Judge John Stevens’ Criminal District Court on Dec. 2.
