David Marl Stacey Sr.

David Marl Stacey Sr., 79, of Cheek, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 2, 2014, surrounded by family. David is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret Vincent Stacey, and three children, Cindy Wilson of Dripping Springs, husband Curtis Wilson, grandsons Dustin and Canyon Wilson, granddaughter-in-law Carlea Wilson, great-grandson Holton Wilson; Susan Stacey of Fannett; David M. Stacey Jr. and wife Joyce Madaffri Stacey of Fannett, and their son David (Trey) M. Stacey III of Beaumont; sisters Louise McJunkin of Greenvile, S.C., and Irene Ethington of Columbia, Mo.; and brother-in-law Bob Franklin of Nederland. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Lilian and Alexander Paul Stacey of Tyrone, Mo.; brother Alexander Paul Stacey Jr.; and sisters Nina Franklin, Jackie Stacey and Mini Halsey.

David served from 1952 to 1956 in the United States Air Force. David then married Margaret Vincent in Port Arthur, Texas.

David graduated from Lamar Tech in 1962 with a BA in Sociology. David then went on to graduate from Midwestern Baptist Seminary in Kansas City, Kansas, with a Master of Divinity, and Master of Religious Education. David enjoyed vegetable gardening and sharing the bounties with all. David was also an avid woodworker, creating a gambit of projects. David was a loving husband, father and friend. He touched many lives with his generous, caring spirit and his willingness to share his dedicated love of the Lord.

A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Calder Baptist Church. There was a gathering for visitation after the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Some Other Place, Calder Baptist Library or Alzheimer’s research.
