One dead after pickup truck rear ends semi on I-10

On May 6, at about 2:40 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to a two vehicle crash on I-10 near Martin Luther King Drive (MLK) in Orange County.

Initial reports indicate that the Orange Police Department was investigating a multiple vehicle crash in the eastbound lanes of I-10 near MLK in Orange County. This crash shutdown all eastbound traffic on the Interstate.

Due to the traffic congestion, a 2016 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer was stopped in the inside lane when it was rear-ended by the driver of a Nissan Titan pickup truck. The Nissan pickup truck received extensive damage to the cab of the truck.

The driver of the Nissan, 28-year-old Bryan Ray Camacho of Hamshire, was pronounced deceased at the crash scene.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, Clifford William, 58, of Mississippi, was not injured in the crash.

This remains an active crash investigation.
