One person is dead and five were injured in a shooting at Club Rumba this past weekend, according to Beaumont Police.

Officers responded to a disturbance at the club, located at 3684 College St. Suite B on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 2:11 a.m., Officer Carol Riley said in a statement.

Witnesses told officers that a fight broke out inside the club and continued in the parking lot when multiple subjects retrieved firearms and began shooting at each other.

Five people suffered gunshot wounds. One victim, Ronald Livings, 27, was transported to Baptist Hospital in a car and died from his injuries.

Another 26 year old man was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth hospital and taken to surgery. The other victims were treated and released with non life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is still in the early stages, according to Riley. Detectives are still taking statements and are trying to locate witnesses that left the scene without speaking with officers.

Riley asks that anyone with information about this investigation that did not speak with officers, please call (409) 880-3865.
