One injured after shooting at Port Arthur Citgo

On January 3, at 7:14 p.m., Port Arthur Police officers were dispatched to St. Mary's hospital in reference to a gunshot victim, according to a PAPD statement.

Upon arrival, officers received information that a victim arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg area. Further details were given in reference to the incident where it was found that the actual shooting took place at the Citgo gas station, 5266 Gulfway Drive. Officers responded to the location, where they established a crime scene.

While conducting an investigation to determine what led to the shooting, officers learned that the victim and the suspect were involved in a disturbance which led to a physical altercation. During the altercation, the suspect retrieved a weapon and fired at the victim, causing his injury.

The victim was transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital.
