One killed in rollover in Orange County

On April 21 approximately 6:30 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety received a report of a one vehicle rollover crash on I-10 in Orange County, Sgt. Stephanie Davis said in a release. The crash occurred near FM 1442.

A 2001 Ford F150 pickup truck was traveling eastbound on I-10. For an unknown reason, the driver drifted off the roadway to the right and traveled across the grass median. As the vehicle traveled across the grass median, the vehicle struck a dirt embankment, vaulted into the air and struck a concrete wall. After colliding with the concrete wall, the vehicle caught fire.

The driver, 25-year-old Paul Jerome Vail Johnson II, of Louisiana, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Johnson was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.
