One semi rear ends another on I-10, then van hits semi

On March 12 around 3:30 p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) received a report of a multiple vehicle crash on I-10, near mile marker 838, in Jefferson County, Sgt. Stephanie Davis reported at 4:18 p.m..

Initial reports indicate that the crash occurred in the eastbound traffic lanes and involved multiple vehicles, including a truck tractor semi-trailer. At this time, there are no confirmed reports of injuries, Davis said.

At 4:31 p.m., Davis said in a release that preliminary reports indicate that a truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling eastbound on the interstate and slowed down for traffic congestion when it was rear-ended by another 18-wheeler. The driver of a passenger van was not paying attention and collided with the second 18-wheeler.

The wrecked vehicles have been moved to the shoulder of the road, but traffic is moving slowly. Motorists are urged to use caution and stay alert for slow moving or stopped vehicles.
