Orange assault victim update - police searching for victim's grandson
According to information from the Orange Police Department, on Wednesday, April 6, an arrest warrant was obtained for the suspect in the April 5 attempted murder case of 51-year-old Sylvia Vaughns.
Vaughns, who was transported to UTMB in Galveston by helicopter due to the severity of her injuries, was still recovering in the island hospital at press time and investigators say they are searching for the victim’s grandson as the aggressor responsible for her life threatening injuries.
The grandson has been named as 18-year-old Horace Dempsey, and he is currently at large, investigators contend. Reports from the Orange Police Department state Dempsey was last seen in the State of Florida, driving the victim’s 1996 white Ford Mustang, Texas license plate # JKH474.
